About Me

I am Nancy Niehaus Hurley.  My family history research journey began in 2002 when my husband suggested that I might enjoy looking further into my ancestry, beyond the story passed down in my father's family.  He took me on a few research trips to the Indiana State Library, the cemeteries around Indiana and many happy escapades on the Internet.  I was totally captured and have been digging up history ever since.  My origins are in Germany, with all trails leading eventually to Indiana. And there have been some winding, interesting paths to follow. Of course, there are still secretive people, hiding out there for me to yet discover.  So now I am taking this opportunity of recording my historical information and experiences on a blog.  I hope you will come with me as I share and learn.
